PIPE WELDING ELECTRODE IS SPECIALIZED ART
» E-6010
"E-6010 Electrodes are characterized by a deeply, penetrating, forceful, spray type arc and ready removable, thin, friable slag which may not seem to completely cover the deposit. Fillet welds are usually relatively flat in profile and have rather coarse, unevenly spaced ripple. E-6010 Classified as High Cellulose Sodium type Electrode." API Standard 1104,2.2
POSITIVE FEATURES OF KOBE-31 (E-6010)

Produces steady, Concentrated arc which forms a continuous bead inside of the.
PipeProduces a thin & stiff covering of slag.
Minimum tendencies to produce pin-holes or porosity or other defects and gives Radiography (X Ray) welds.
Uniform and uninterrupted Arc help excellent maneuverability of the Electrodeduring downhill welding.
Welders can reduce work-time drastically. It improves workmanship and increase output.
Manufactured from imported cellulose & other ingredients.
TO GET BEST PERFORMANCE OF KOBE-31 E-6010 OR
KOBE-7010 G/A1 ELECTRODES PLEASE FOLLOW GUIDELINES:
Prepare joint as per API standards and do not removethe line up clamps until the stringer is completed.
Clean joint preparation.
Pre-heat the pipe at least at 50°C when the ambient temperature is less then 20°C.
Make the stringer as large as practical.
Use recommended current and positive polarity for stringent bead.
Always weld the stringer pass and hot pass in two(or more) men working on opposite side of the pipe.
For larger size pipe use four welders which will equalizestress forces.
Make the hot pass as soon as possible after the stringer bead - Possibly within five minutes
Remove the slag from each bead by high speed wirebrush or light grinding.
In case of thin weld and high silicon content material pipes, Use negative polarity.
